A New Adventure...

and a wine babe is born!

Last October, while lounging on her couch, Niki and I chatted, among various topics, wine was also brought up. While I now can't quite remember what else was said I do remember leaving her place impressed that she seemed to know her wine, and even more importantly knew how to appreciate wine. "2005 was a good year," She had said.

With that, I remembered that I, too, wanted to learn more about wine. Not just casually drink it here and there, and sometimes to the point of inebriation, yet not ever fully appreciating it. Niki mentioned that she learned more about wine through wine tasting trips and classes. Hey, that sounded like fun!

It is only at the beginning of this year that I am now embarking on this new adventure...and as it has been said, "When the student is ready, the teacher awaits..." Well, something like that! I've been trying out new wines based on friends' recommendations, magazine reviews...Last week, I've stumbled on another exciting new resource...the wine blogging community...and thus, the inspiration for this blog...Wine Babe. Wine Babe, because that is essentially who I am...someone who is just a baby to this exciting wine world...!
